Here is the first verse:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Come, Thou Fount of every blessing;<br \/>\nTune my heart to sing Thy grace.<br \/>\nStreams of mercy, never ceasing,<br \/>\nCall for songs of loudest praise.<\/p>\n<p>Teach me some melodious sonnet,<br \/>\nSung by flaming tongues above.<br \/>\nPraise the mount; I&#8217;m fixed upon it:<br \/>\nMount of Thy redeeming love.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jonathanwhitcomb.com\/book-of-mormon\/2025\/06\/21\/sacred-l-d-s-hymn-written-by-jonathan-david-whitcomb\/\"><strong>Christ in Gethsemane\u2014a New Sacrament Hymn<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now in the Garden&#8221; might be called the grownup version of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchofjesuschrist.org\/media\/music\/songs\/gethsemane?crumbs=hymns-for-home-and-church&amp;lang=eng\">Gethsemane<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>verse #1<\/p>\n<p>Now in the garden cool<br \/>\nKneels the Beloved Son,<br \/>\nFeeling the dark perpetual chill:<br \/>\nHis agony has begun.<\/p>\n<p>Seeking his Father\u2019s will<br \/>\nFinding his pain is worse,<br \/>\nHe makes the choice, enduring it still,<br \/>\nIn accepting the awful curse.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/objectiveness.com\/press-releases\/Hail-to-the-Son.pdf\"><strong>A New Easter Hymn for Latter-day Saints<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hail to the Son&#8221; has words, by Jonathan Whitcomb , set to the music of Felix Mendelssohn. Here is the first verse:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hail to the King, the Holy Son of the Father!<br \/>\nHail to the Son, the resurrected Redeemer!<br \/>\nHail to the King forever more!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>###<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jonathanwhitcomb.com\/book-of-mormon\/2025\/07\/04\/why-have-a-new-version-of-the-hymn-amazing-grace\/\"><strong>New LDS lyrics for &#8220;Amazing Grace&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I was surprised to find an even more serious problem with most of the verses: At least most of them had no direct reference to Jesus Christ. It seemed to me that this neglect was similar to what we had been warned about by the prophet Russel M. Nelson: Use the Savior\u2019s name when talking about the atonement of Christ.&#8221; {That surely also applies to the grace of the Savior.]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bookapplause.com\/whitcomb_family_heritage\/?p=137\"><strong>LDS Families Now Have New Hymns<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These include &#8220;I&#8217;m a Pioneer Too&#8221;, &#8220;Amazing Grace&#8221;, &#8220;Like a River Flowing&#8221;, and &#8220;A Thousand Years of Zion&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bookapplause.com\/whitcomb_family_heritage\/?p=118\"><strong>New Hymns for LDS Church and Home<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Now in the Garden<br \/>\nHail to the Son<br \/>\nVictory Through Jesus Christ<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5GByM5ENtts\"><strong>&#8220;Come to Christ&#8221; anthem<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jonathan David Whitcomb wrote this sacred Christian choir piece in celebration of the 200-year anniversary of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon (1823 to 1830).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dirkdeklein.net\/2025\/02\/03\/amazing-grace-the-hymn-and-its-origin\/\"><strong>About the old Christian Hymn &#8220;Amazing Grace&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Amazing Grace is one of the most beloved and enduring hymns in Christian tradition. With its profound message of redemption and spiritual renewal, the hymn has touched millions of lives across centuries and cultures.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-s-lewis.com\/clear-thinking\/2025\/06\/23\/new-lds-hymn-about-following-jesus-christ-mid-2025\/\"><strong>LDS Hymn &#8220;Like a River Flowing&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As of at least mid-June of 2025, \u201cLike a River Flowing\u201d has not been promoted or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
